Born on the Mountain · Reborn as Design
The Craft
What happens to a snowboard after its last run? At RL Designs, it begins a second life — as one-of-a-kind jewellery, handcrafted from start to finish.

01
The Snowboard
From the mountain to the workshop
It all starts with a retired snowboard. Not discarded — reimagined. Roger collects old decks that have made their last descent and sees what others overlook: extraordinary materials, unique patterns, a story you can wear. No two snowboards are alike. No two pieces ever identical.

02
The Design
Precision meets creativity
With his background in mechanics, Roger thinks in tolerances and fits. Every piece of jewellery is first designed on a computer in CAD — millimetre-precise, thoughtful, perfected. What emerges is no accident. It is engineering that calls itself jewellery design.

03
The Milling
Craft meets technology
Roger mills every piece himself — directly from the snowboard material. The layers of an old deck, the fibreglass, the wood core, the lacquer — they all tell their own story. Milling reveals that story. No tool takes this step except his own hands.

04
The Sealing
Protection for eternity
A snowboard survives years in ice and snow. The material Roger uses must do the same — on a finger, at the neck, on the wrist. He seals every piece himself, with multiple layers, carefully applied, dried, and tested. The result is not just beautiful. It is lasting.

05
The Finish
The unique piece is born
Sanding, polishing, checking. Every last touch is deliberate. No piece leaves the atelier without Roger's personal final inspection. Only when every detail is right — every edge, every shine, every proportion — is the piece ready. Not for the market. For one person.

What's inside?
Every piece consists of the real layers of a snowboard. Processed, sealed, worn.
