Founder & Craftsman, RL Designs
Precision in my blood, the mountains in my heart. My background as a mechanic shapes the way I work: thinking in millimetres and working with materials I understand from the ground up. The result is handcrafted one-of-a-kind jewellery where technical excellence meets a passion for winter sports.
At some point I stopped throwing away old boards. Not out of nostalgia — but because I saw what this material holds. Layers, structures, patterns no designer could have consciously created. I started working with it.
What emerged from that I call RL Designs. Jewellery made from what others leave behind. Sustainable. Precise. Made for eternity.
A dream that has burned for a long time
RL Designs is not a sudden idea. It is a project Roger has lived for years — alongside his job, alongside everyday life, in the hours that belong to him. The workshop has always been his place. Only the material has changed.
Rather than following conventional paths, I am driven by the pursuit of perfect execution: every piece is first designed on a computer before being shaped in the workshop through milling, sealing and polishing. These skills did not emerge from a school — they came from an inner drive to truly master materials and processes.
Today all pieces are created in his atelier in Switzerland. Every order is a personal matter. Roger knows every piece he has ever shipped. And he always asks himself: would I wear this myself?
Craftsmanship
Every piece is created by Roger's own hands — from design to completion. No factory, no middleman. Just one person, one workshop, one unique piece.
Sustainability
Old snowboards are not discarded — they become jewellery. What others throw away carries a second, more beautiful life at RL Designs.
Precision
A mechanic thinks in tolerances. That thinking is in every cut, every mill pass, every coat of sealant. Swiss quality is not a buzzword — it is the standard.
